Two Christmas Wreaths and Custom Signs

I just completed two wreaths for Christmas! I know, it isn't even Thanksgiving yet. But if you're like me, you just can't wait to pull out those Christmas decorations. A month or so ago, I taught you how to make a Felt Flower Wreath.

I adapted it for Christmas, and here it is:

CHRISTMAS FELT FLOWER WREATH  $45 

I used two colors of red and ivory felt to make the flowers. Bright red berries and sparkly red ribbon add to the bright look. I finished it off with a green H. This one is for my friend, Rachel.

I was curious when I made the fall wreath about how it would hold up. Well, it seems to be doing great! Here's an un-touched-up picture of it on my door today. I do have a porch, so it's not in direct sunlight. 

Here's the second wreath. It's a burlap ruffle wreath with a little holiday bling. There are three ribbon flowers with a red ruffle on the inside rim. The polk-a-dot ribbon ties the colors together. I'll post a tutorial soon if you're interested in making your own.

Here's a close-up of the flowers. They are made by scrunching up wire ribbon on one side and creating a spiral.

I also finished a few custom signs. If you would like to order one in time for Christmas, please let me know soon. This sign is a Christmas gift for a friend's dad. It's gray with cream letters. It's pretty small. These start around $30.

I think this one is so cute. It's blue-green with platinum accents on "priceless."

The next two are for a friend's kids' rooms. She prayed these verses over her kids while pregnant. I want to find verses for my kiddos now. I matched the colors to their bedding.

I've had several questions about what I have currently for sale. I'm still trying to figure this whole blog thing out, but here's a quick snapshot of a few items...

CHALKBOARDS

These typically range in price from $25 to $30. I can do custom colors if you're interested. Here's what I have available now.

Green Chalkboard in Frame $35

This chalkboard is green and grey with distressing so that some of the original bronze shows through. It's pretty big. I can provide the dimensions if needed. It's finished with a rich coat of wax.

Gray and Gold Chalkboard on Cabinet Door $25

This is a smaller chalkboard, maybe 16" square. It's painted dark gray with light blue and gold accents. Border is sealed with wax.

 Green Chalkboard on Cabinet Door $25

This is the same size as the gray but painted a pretty green with cream details. Border sealed with wax.

Custom Merry Christmas Sign $70

This sign is large, maybe 40" x 18". I'll provide exact measurements if needed. It's cream with a dark green border. The letters are hand-painted in a rich red with black accents. Finished with a rubbed stain and hand-waxed. 

Porch Sign $25

This fun sign could be a great gift. It's green with navy lettering. Hand sealed with wax.

Custom Signs

I've completed several custom signs that I haven't shared yet. I love the way they all turned out.

It's so fun to create something that will be used and appreciated. My favorite step on everything I do is the finishing, because that's when it all starts to take shape. But my second favorite is delivering it to the client, particularly on custom signs. It's the reaction. It is so rewarding to take someone's vision and create something unique for their space.

 

This was the biggest project I've ever worked on. These two "shutters" for The Nest Antiques & Such were painted to go on either side of the storefront. I can't wait to get a pic of them hanging up outside!

This custom sign hangs above a fabulous outdoor kitchen and bar area. It was created on a repurposed cabinet door.

Here is yet another family established sign. This one is black with light cream letters.

Here's a custom sign that I designed for my mom-in-law to go on her front porch. They live in the country and she wanted people to know they were at the right place when they drove up!

This was based on a sign my sister-in-law saw and wanted me to recreate, but with my "spin" on it. I think I may need one too...

Here's another one for mom-in-law's front porch. What can I say? She's a great customer!!

Family Established Signs

I've seen this idea around and always loved it. I put some "Little House" spin on it, and here it is...

I did mine in a navy/black background with cream letters. It really pops in my living room with all the white and light gray.

I had the privilege of working on one for my friend Carly. She wanted a rustic red background.
